With the passage of time, the Northern Nigeria Forestry Services Department was established and later renamed Northern Nigeria School of Forestry, Jos. I heartily welcome you all, members of staff, returning, potential and incoming students as well as first time visitors, to the Federal College of Forestry Jos website! To the first time visitor, we are very happy to have you join our College community.
It is important to note that God in His infinite wisdom created the flora and fauna before creating man indicating that man can only continue to survive when the forests are sustained. Over the years, the College has successfully provided training, technical knowledge and vocational skills for men and women and produced technical staff on sustained basis in Forestry, Agriculture and related disciplines. The forests is the repository of vast wealth and health. In a bid to open up more of the potentials derivable from the forests, I am delighted to inform all students that in addition to our regular NBTE accredited programmes, the College is introducing four new courses at the Diploma/Certificate level. These are the ‘Indigenous Knowledge System’; ‘Applied Bioscience’; ‘Applied Biotechnology’ and ‘GIS and Remote Sensing’.
It is on this note that I invite you to come along and explore the tremendous advantages you stand to gain from the College right from this website and do not hesitate to contact any of our Heads of Departments or officers for required clarifications. I can assure you that a very rewarding experience awaits you as you do this.
You are welcome!
